There’s no greater honor than being part of a student’s learning journey, and I feel truly blessed to have worked with such bright, resilient, and curious young people over the years. I stay in touch with many of my former students through LinkedIn and absolutely love watching them flourish in college and beyond. Their kind words mean the world to me, and I’m deeply grateful they’ve taken the time to reflect on their experiences working with me.
I am incredibly grateful to have had Ms. Kambanis as my high school Chemistry teacher. Her passion for teaching and deep knowledge of the subject made every lesson engaging, whether it was through hands-on experiments, discussions, or simply her ability to explain complex topics in a way that made sense.
Beyond academics, Ms. Kambanis always made me feel supported, encouraged, and valued, creating a classroom environment where it was easy to ask questions and stay engaged. One of the kindest teachers I have ever had, her patience and encouragement helped me build confidence in the subject.
I’m so grateful to have been one of her students, and I highly recommend her as a tutor to anyone looking for both academic support and a genuinely kind and encouraging mentor.
Having Ms. Kambanis as my chemistry teacher was truly an unforgettable experience. Science is not my strong suit, but she made challenging concepts feel approachable with her explanations and hands-on experiments. At the end of the school year, Chemistry was one of my favorite classes. Beyond teaching the material, she truly cared about each student’s success and was always available for extra help or encouragement when we needed it. Some of my favorite memories with her were when we learned about collision theory and when some of my peers and I took a trip to Seattle to learn about sustainability. Learning from her gave me not only a strong foundation in chemistry but also a boost of confidence in tackling difficult subjects. I’m grateful to have been her student and know that her dedication will continue to make a positive impact on other people's lives.
Ms. Kambanis was my Cosmic Evolution teacher during my sophomore year of high school, but the relationship we built continued throughout the rest of my high school career and now into my undergraduate career at Vassar College.
What makes Abi such an amazing teacher is her ability to relate to students. Despite her rigorous educational background, she simplifies complex concepts in a way that students can easily retain. In the spring of 2024, my senior year, I had the opportunity to go on a study tour with Abi to the Ecology School in Saco, Maine. Her passion for environmental sustainability and protection was evident in our conversations. She ensured that everyone had the opportunity to participate in meaningful activities. It has been a pleasure to get to know her and be her student!
I had the pleasure of being in Ms. Kambanis's Chemistry class my sophomore year of high school, after my school's science department lost multiple teachers due to budget cuts. She came in new- as an extraordinary and uniquely empathetic teacher who poured her heart into creating unique and engaging lesson plans to best help us master the material. It was a challenging class, but Ms. Kambanis gave us every opportunity she could to work hands on and express our creativity. She kindly worked with students individually to keep them on track and accommodated those having trouble with personalized assignments to best fit their learning style. It is rare that you come across such a compassionate teacher willing to put in so much effort.
