My Background
I’m Abigail Kambanis, a highly experienced and certified STEM educator with over a decade of science, math, and computer science teaching and tutoring experience in Fairfield County, CT, and England. I specialize in physics, chemistry, Earth sciences, mathematics, and computer science, offering a premium, results-driven tutoring experience tailored to high-achieving students aiming for top universities.
I hold a BSc in Geophysics with Geology from Durham University, one of the UK’s most prestigious institutions, often compared to Ivy League schools in terms of academic rigor and selectivity. I also earned a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) in Integrated Sciences from Bristol University, equipping me with advanced teaching methodologies to ensure students not only learn but truly excel.
I have worked as a certified science teacher in both the UK and Connecticut, including at St. Augustine’s Catholic College (UK) and the Center for Global Studies in Norwalk, CT, where I was certified in Physics, Chemistry, Earth Sciences, and Computer Science. Additionally, I have completed graduate education coursework at Sacred Heart University with a 4.0 GPA, further refining my expertise in student-centered learning.
Beyond education, I am at the forefront of data science and STEM innovation. I just completed MIT’s Applied Data Science program, as of March 2025, and I am currently earning an MS in Data Science at the University of Rhode Island, giving me real-world computational expertise that enhances my ability to teach computer science, programming, and advanced problem-solving.
